Meet Our Team
Sheila Amaya, CPA (Tax Manager)
Sheila started her career as a Tax Accountant in Affinity Tax & Consulting in 2017 when she moved to Las Vegas, Nevada. She has a bachelors degree in accounting and received her Masters in Science and Accounting in 2021. Aside from being licensed to practice as a CPA in the USA, she also has a license to practice in the Phillipines.
Michelle Matsumura, CPA, EA (Partner)
Michelle has worked in public accounting since 2004. She earned a Bachelor’s in Accounting and her MBA. She moved to Las Vegas in 2011, where she worked with Cory Roberts, CPA, as his Tax Manager. In 2015, Cory Roberts and Michelle Matsumura formed Affinity Tax and Consulting LLC and became business partners. Mrs. Matsumura’s experience is primarily with High-net worth Individuals, Family Offices, International Taxation, Partnerships, Real Estate, and S Corporations. Before working in accounting, she was in restaurant management for several years.
Lindsay Randall (Office Manager)
Lindsay got her degree in Broadcast Journalism. She spent five years working for a news station in Salt Lake City, Utah, before deciding to change things up and move closer to family. Lindsay loves working with our small business clients on their bookkeeping. She’s likely listening to a true crime podcast while she reconciles accounts. She’s happy to bring her best friend, Samwise, to the office daily.
Cory Roberts, CPA (Partner)
Cory gained his accounting experience as a Tax Manager with Deloitte & Touche (now Deloitte), where he spent over eight years in both the Boston, MA and Las Vegas, NV offices working with multi-national corporations, high net-worth individuals, and the various business and investment vehicles utilized by such clients. For the next nine years, Mr. Roberts has had his own accounting practice where he continues to consult with domestic and international investors specializing in Income Tax Planning and Consulting. In 2015, he opened a new business with Michelle Matsumura and is the Senior Partner at Affinity Tax & Consulting.
Mr. Roberts earned his Master of Accountancy and Bachelor of Science degrees from Brigham Young University and is fluent in Portuguese.
Samathan Lawrence
Samantha started at Affinity Tax & Consulting in 2015 as a clerk and worked her way up to her current position as a Tax Accountant. She has bachelor's degrees in both Political Science from UNLV and Accounting from WGU. She has been a local to Las Vegas since 2011.
Samwise (Greeter)
Samwise was born on October 25th, 2021. He started “working” at Affinity when he was just two months old. He looks forward to seeing all his friends at the office daily. Samwise loves his job of shredding documents and being the office greeter!
